553 A65
I bought this sight with hesitation. I have been a long time Aimpoint user and have looked down on such sights as Eotech and Trijicon. But I have to say this 553 is one hell of a sight. My rating of pros and cons are as follows, and are reviewed after a four hour range from 3 yds to 400yds and are of my opinion only.
PRO’S: 553 is faster in acquisition than any Aimpoint I have used (M2, M3, and M4). Night vision is actuated by a tactile button verses turning a knob for 7 settings. More levels of brightness are available. 1 MOA dot, this is by far the best for pin point accuracy when used with 3X magnifier.
CON’S: Weight at 11.5oz it is more than the Aimpoint. Size, it is slightly larger than the Aimpoint M4, but not by much. Battery life, it still will run for about 8 to 10 day’s on full power 24/7, plenty for me.
All politics set aside this is a great sight and I am now switching from Aimpoint to EOtech. I don't like change but, change is good when it is for the best.
