Rob PizziniI was on vacation for a week and was hunting in an area close to my home when I saw this nice 4x4 mule deer buck on the hillside about two hundred and fifty yds away. I immediatly hit the ground so he would not see me as he hadn't noticed me yet.Using my fanny pack as a rest I centered the crosshairs on his chest and relaxed for a second and took the shot. It was a perfect hit in the heart lung area just behind his right shoulder. He took a huge jump on impact and went about four steps before he went down. His momentum slid him all the way down the hillside on the fresh snow and into the ditch right next to the road. All I had to do was walk the two miles back to my truck and drive right over to him to get him loaded up. I was using my Springfield Armory M1A w/national match barrel and other national match upgrades. The scope is a Leupold VX-II 6-18x40 AO with a wide duplex reticle model#57035 using an A.R.M.S. #18 mount and A.R.M.S.#22QD rings I was shooting 165gr remington premier scirocco bonded. I don't believe that I would have been able to make this shot with any of the scopes I had tried on this rifle before. The clarity and accuracy that the Leupold delivered gave me the edge to making the perfect shot. Thanks SWFA for the great scope and great service.
