Miguel MoralesLast Chance Buck
I was really happy for my Dad when he drew a muzzleloader tag for any antlered deer. I glassed for two to three weeks before and managed to see two really good bucks. As the season drew closer, we had family issues that came into play.
We hunted the first few days hoping for a chance at the big boys. After a missed opportunity and family matters getting a bit more complicated, my father decided that he might not hunt the rest of the hunt. I convinced him to go out one more morning and place a stalk on the first deer we saw.
We were glassing at first light with my SWFA Big Eyes and it seemed like fate. There stood this 3x3 and we did not waste any time. We got within 116 yards in about 20 minutes. My dad setup the bipod, steadied the crosshairs and squeezed of the shot. The deer ran 45 yards and piled up. Even though he isn't impressive, it makes for an awesome memory with my father.
