Sitting on my M4 is my personal SWFA-purchased Aimpoint NVG-Compatible reflex sight (bought online, FEB 03). You see, being savy to "who gets the cool stuff," I knew that a B-team guy would get little of the good gear--but that I would still get missions. So, before going over, I just bought my own.
The shot was in "bertha the up-armored," and taken by the battalion chaplain o/a June 2004. That aimpoint in the photo survived an IED near-miss, and many other "encounters."
If nothing else, I would add that the purchase of this unit was both prompt and competitive in price. I had two weeks from alert to deployment, and time was critical. Good job to SWFA in supporting us old warriors!
