Daniel DallacasaThe sixth birthday of my daughter Monica was approaching and like any good father, I thought it was time to introduce her to shooting. Shortly after her birthday, Monica was delighted to receive a beautiful .22 caliber rifle. Needless to say, I was under the impression that my native born Texan daughter would take to shooting like a duck takes to water. The big day arrived and off to the shooting range we went with Mom singing hi ho, hi ho, all the way. To my despair, even with Mom’s help, Monica had a terrible day and declared shooting…..“No Fun”. A month later, our shooting club hosted a Turkey Shoot. After much pleading, Monica still refused to participate in the event saying it was “No Fun”. At the Turkey Shoot, a senior citizen who was hosting the youth events convinced Monica to shoot the range balloons with a 22 rifle and scope. To my amazement, the girl did not want to stop! Monica was breaking every balloon with a pop and a laugh. I came home and immediately ordered a scope from SWFA. I was delighted with my 30-06 scope from SWFA and I knew that I would not be disappointed. Monica waited for the scope every day during December. It almost seemed like Santa Claus took a back seat for the month. Once the scope arrived, Monica repeatedly asked to go shooting. This time we headed for the shooting range and sang hi ho, hi ho at a higher level. Wow….what a happy and proud girl with her SWFA scope and 22. The target still hangs in our gun closet to this day and Monica is now totally engaged in shooting. Most thanks to SWFA for providing the scope that keeps Monica shooting with her Mom and Dad with a SMILE.
