Michael EffertzMy hunting buddy (Eric) and I were hunting in Post, Texas. We were walking a cliff face hoping to jump a Mule Deer or an Aoudad. We had covered about 1/2 a mile when we stopped for a rest and that is when Eric noticed this Mule Deer come around the cedar trees about 30 yards away. Since Eric had already shot a deer this year it was my turn.
I had a difficult 30 yard shot with about a 30 mph wind from my back. I could have shot the suicidal Muley with my .357 Blackhawk but then I couldn't have entered it in this contest because it has iron sights. That is where my Simmons Pro Hunter 3-9x40 came in very handy. I was able to place my shot at that extreme distance without any problem; I didn't even have to use the Bi-Pod.
