David HallenbeckI had the opportunity to hunt the famous Y.O. ranch in S. Texas this year and I wanted to make sure the odds were in my favor so I took a pair of the Swarovski SLC 10x42 binoculars. They allowed me to spot and judge game that we would have never seen with the naked eye. We spotted this trophy class Axis in a group with several other Axis. They are very difficult to judge, but when there are several of them it is alot easier. We decided that there was a shooter in group and formulated our game plan and stalk. Once we got in range and I was setting up the shot it was difficult to find the shooter through my scope. Having an experienced professional hunter from South Africa as my guide really made a difference in me taking this trophy. He was able to quickly and accurately get me on the correct buck for the shot before we lost them again. Axis is by far the best tasting game species I have ever tasted (better than beef).
