Matt TravisHi Chris After taking a decent buck in Wyoming a month earlier, I headed to Montana to see if I could be lucky enough to take another. After stalking as close as I could to a herd I pulled out the Leica Geovids I bought from you this summer and ranged them at 392 yards. That is a long poke, but the wind was square at my back at about five knots, and my handloads keep them inside two inches at 300 yards, so if I could get a stationary shot I figured I might shoot. I snugged into the rifle and saw there was only one buck in the bunch. Not a big buck, but plenty good for my needs. I touched off the .257 Roberts and he folded and never twitched so much as once. That was my longest shot on a big game animal and I would never have attemped it had the conditions not been perfect and the range known with certainty. Love the Geovids. Matt used:
