Byron South

My wife and I rigged up and went to try it out last night but got a late start. The hogs were already bedded around the feeder. I used night vision to get into the area. This place is pretty thick. We were within 50 yards of the hogs before I realized they were there (bedded and silent). We tried to get the camera up and running to film but the clicking of tripods and cameras put the hogs on red alert. When I heard the warning grunting start I knew I only had a few seconds to react before they would be gone. As they were leaving I quickly put the laser designator on the first hog I could and quickly put him down. This all happened in the matter of seconds. With only a very limited amount of experience with this devise it performed very well. I was able to make a good shot on a pig that without the aid of this devise would have been impossible. Of course I could have made the shot with a regular light mounted on the gun but these hogs really didn’t seem to spook much from the green laser as they would have from a bright white light. Of course this is only one experience and more time will tell if they are more at ease with the green laser vs. the white or red light.

I’m better prepared now and plan to go out again tonight. We will get set up before dark in an area we know hogs frequent after dusk. Hopefully we will get some footage you can use. If we get this done and have time left we will try and call in a coyote or bobcat to the camera too.

To summarize……my first impression is that these devises will absolutely aid the night hunter. I look forward get getting more familiar with them in the next few days and have a more definite opinion. So far though I believe you have a pretty good product.

Good Hunting,
