The 6x42 has a 7mm exit eye pupil and is as bright of an optic as you can buy. Leupold upgraded their glass in this scope and it is very nice. The fixed power scopes are probably the toughest scopes on the market. The heavy reticle is really easy to see in low light. I put this on a 300 WM and while other guys may be playing with their power ring or side focus I’m already getting the shot off. This is a scope for a guy who wants to put meat in his freezer. The center crosshairs are not fine enough to be a target scope but they are ideal for hunting in low light. The knobs are finger adjustable and have a marker that can be set so you can dial in correction if you choose to. If you want a scope that can take lots of abuse and still work this is it. I think the long range duplex model would be another great choice as well with its hold over marks. The heavy duplex is one you can definitely see in low light and if you shoot hogs or coyotes at night this is the one.
