The Heritage comes in a variety of reticle and knob configurations (dual or single turn). I went with this one because I want a reticle that is easier to see at low magnification. I also thought that the dual-turn 27 mRad knob was a better range per turn than other options. My first impression of this scope was that it is big. It's not that long but the 34mm tube and the caps makes the scope look beefy, especially if you're more used to compact scopes. I wouldn't put one on a light mountain rifle.
As for the scope's other features, the glass is incredible, low-light performance and the illumination are great. I especially like the no-tool quick releases for zeroing the turrets and the recessed illumination knob. A lot of thought went into this scope. Shooting with this scope is dead-on and the only thing that took getting used to is the parallax adjustment (just because I've never used one before). The knobs work well even in cold weather and everything turns smoothly.
