Great glass!!
This is an outstanding scope for the money...period. I have it mounted on a Savage 12 in .223. I was able to get 5 rounds of 75gr Hornady TAP into 1/4 inch at 100 yards with it. I had no trouble finding those small holes at 100 yards. The glass is very clear. From my kitchen table to the 40 MPH sign across the field is 1408 yards. On 10 power I have no trouble reading that sign! I would highly recommend this scope to anyone who is looking for a variable power scope with clear glass for varmint hunting or shooting in general, this is the scope. ... More

Awesome
I bought one of these to stick on my Savage BAS rifle, and I could not have been more pleased. One feature that I absolutely love is the ease of resetting the zero on this scope. You simply get a good zero, then pull up on the turret cap, rotate it to zero, and let it back down. That's it, you are reset to zero.
It has very positive clicks, and they are very accurate. My scope always returns to zero. I plan on purchasing this scope to put on most all of my rifles. I currently have it on my 308, and a 5.56 rifle. Both work flawlessly and I will definitely be buying more as time passes.

Great glass at a fantastic price
This is a fantastic scope, for the features it offers you can’t beat it for the price. Although it has an MOA turret/MIL reticle setup (which is a bit trickier than having mil/mil, MOA/MOA) the turret clicks are positive, the adjustments are repeatable, the glass is very clear, and the scope is very will built.
My only real complaint is eye relief at +14x is a bit limited, but as long as you're aware you might get smacked, you'll probably be okay. I've got mine on a .308 SPS Tactical (w/20 MOA base) and have had it out to 800 yards with absolutely no problem. In fact, first shot out to 800 after my initial 100 yard zero was a heart shot (steel silhouette); just calculated drop on my blackberry and put it in the Viper and it got it done.
For $400, I couldn't be more pleased, lifetime warranty too. If this scope were made by Leupold, they'd be asking over $1K for it. Vortex is going to be a major player very soon. These scopes are gems.... More
