In sub-zero temperatures or searing desert heat (-50 degrees to +130 degrees Fahrenheit, and altitudes of 30,000 feet to depths of 15 feet in salt water) the waterproof, shockproof, fogproof SS performs. Whatever the weapon, from .223 to .50 BMG, the SS handles the recoil. Whatever the target, the SS gives you the best advantage. Made of lightweight aluminum but strong as steel, it has superior multicoated optics for maximum light transmission. Built to NATO specs.

    great clarity

Posted by tracker on Apr 25th 2018

I own multiple SWFA scopes and I am very pleased with all of them, but this is my first from their HD line. First off, the edge to edge clarity is great. Very clear picture with great resolution from edge to edge. I compared the glass clarity with my vortex viper HS and my Burris Fullfield E1 and this scopes clarity beat both easily. I was looking at a mountainside in the shade on a cloudy day, and while the other two optics weren't bad this one just gave a much crisper image and there was better color contrast looking through this scope. As a hunter who hunts at all legal hours this better color contrast in low light is a big bonus. Turrets have the same feel as my SWFA 3-15 models when turned, but I like the method of loosening the top screw to reset zero a bit better than the 3 set screw set up on my 3-15's. Be aware the Mil-Quad reticle is small and thin enough at 3 power that it's not really effective for holdovers at that magnification. The thick bars on the side and top still effectively draw your eye to the center of the reticle when on lower power it is enough that even though it’s thin at 3 power I had no hesitation in mounting this to my deer rifle. Overall great scope, and of the many SWFA's that I own this one has the best glass and is a bit lighter as well. Buy with confidence.
